Barjac

Barjac is a renaissance village pampered by the Mediterranean climate, embedded between the gorges of the rivers Cèze and Ardèche, the Cevennes mountains and the scrubland of Nîmes. An enchantment, a source of relaxation and artistic inspiration. A place conducive to dance and to tango.

« Simple rhythms that make
hearts brush against each other
to lose the soul »

By Edouard CHAULET, Mayor of Barjac

« That jazz was born from the meeting of Africa and Americans, everyone knows. Those who do not like brewing not because they are often tragic, but because they want to belong to the "rush" that has more rights than others, will be surprised to discover that the Tango also has its origin in Africa, slavery and mixing with the South American, Argentina. This dance, an embrace all at once languid and lively, is a feast of harmony of bodies and bodies with guitars, violins, bandoneons on simple rhythms that make hearts brush against each other to lose the soul.

For several years a school of Tango Abrace has been developing in Barjac. It goes to the next level with a festival. We encourage it. Come ! »
